Talanoa Ako app for Pacific parents now available
Pacific parents can now start their Talanoa Ako journey to gain better understanding of their child’s learning with the launch of the Talanoa Ako digital app.
The Talanoa app follows the previously launched Talanoa Ako radio programme to support parents with distance learning.
Like the radio programme, parents will be able to access information about education in 10 Pacific languages and English in the digital app. The app takes families through the seven core topics of the programme (NCEA information, literacy and numeracy, learning pathways, careers and vocational pathways, school reporting and parent interviews, goal setting, time management). It also includes functionality for people with visual impairment, and interactive audio. Parents can also make notes of their learnings and action points, and access other helpful resources through the app.
The app is free to download for Apple and Android phones and tablets.
To tune in to the Talanoa Ako radio sessions on the Pacific Media Network (PMN) station, go to our Learning from Home page for more details and schedule.
The radio programme will air its 10th and final session on 22-28 June 2020.
