Progress and achievement across the National Curriculum for Years 1 to 10

The Ministry wants to know what you think about progress and achievement, to help us enhance teaching and lead to better outcomes for every child.

We’re asking you to tell us what kind of information you want to receive about your child’s progress and achievement, how you want to receive it, and whether there is more information your child’s school could provide to help you support your child’s learning.

We’ve added a short online survey about student progress and achievement to the online Education Conversation(external link). The survey is open from 1–28 June.

What you tell us will help us to make sure teachers are able to assess and report to you on your child’s progress across the broad curriculum – not just in reading, writing and maths or te reo matatini and pāngarau – and to provide the right learning opportunities and support for your child.

The information we get through the survey will contribute to recommendations to the Minister of Education.

We will keep you updated about this work as it progresses.
